We hold our lived experiences in our physical bodies…
As humans, we have the capacity for such joy, clarity, and vitality as physical beings when we live fully into our embodied experience. Of course, it is the case so often, and for so many of us, that the challenges and unconscious habits of our physical and emotional experiences ‘build-up’ and manifest in any number of forms in our physical experience.
As a teenager, I received professional massage in the form of Trigger Point Therapy, I felt for the first time the supportive and empowering release that body work can have in helping me to return energy trapped in pain and resistance to a flowing healthy state. This experience struck me, inspiring me to the possibilities of healing myself and also seeding deep curiosity.
I would go on to receive a number of other significant bodywork treatments at the hands of passionate practitioners from sports massage, Swedish massage, and Thai massage over the years which each shifted my physical and emotional state in subtle and not-so-subtle ways would mark significant turning points in my life.
In 2021, my mother was suffering from severe shoulder pain at a family gathering. When I saw her isolated in her pain, I reached out with touch. Using touch, I found a connection and closeness with her I hadn’t felt in years. Together, we tuned into what she was feeling and helped her find relief. It was in this moment that I decided to finally enroll in massage therapy school.
When I became an improvisational hoop performer, I found that flow arts provided an outlet to move the energy of stuck experiences through my own body and realize my vitality through expressive movement.
With Massage Therapy as well as Embodiment Practices, it is my intention to support you in realizing your own embodied vitality.
Looking forward to working with you!
